BASF offers since more than 30 years a broad portfolio for treating streams used in polyethylene, polypropylene or cumene units. The portfolio also covers units recovering olefins like ethylene or propylene recovery units or generating olefins like dehydrogenation units or steamcrackers.
BASF Cu-0226 S is a highly dispersed copper oxide impregnated on a high surface alumina used primarily for removing traces of O2 in inert gases like nitrogen. BASF Cu-0226 S is available in spheres with a nominal diameter of 8x14 mesh (1.2 – 2.4 mm) or 14x28 mesh (0.6- 1.2 mm) Cu-0226 S has originally been developed by Dow and has also been referred to as Q5.
PuriStar® R3-12, PuriStar® R3-16 and Selexsorb® AS are used in the oxidized state without any further pre-treatment step such as a reduction. The adsorbents as produced contain a few wt-% of adsorbed water, and they may pick up additional water from the atmosphere during handling and loading.
BASF Adsorbent E 315 is a spherical adsorbent for removing arsine and sulfur compounds from hydrocarbon streams in the presence of hydrogen or multiple unsaturated components.
BASF H0-14 is primarily used for the removal of trace amounts of MAPD from propylene containing streams.

BASF Na-0101 is a cylindrical adsorbent made out of Sodium Bi-Fluoride (NaHF2 or NAF * HF). Due to its capacity it has been for many years an industry standard for the removal of certain fluoride components. It requires a pre-treatment before use, converting the bi-fluoride into the respective fluoride.
PuriStar® R3-15 and R3-16 are used for the conversion of CO and H2, which can be present in trace amounts in ethylene. For application details, please refer to the respective datasheets.

BASF PuriStar® R0-25 was developed specifically for the catalytic combustion of organic compounds (VOCs) and other combustible compounds from industrial off- gases.
BASF PuriStar® R3-11 is a high-performance material used for the removal of trace impurities from gases and liquids.
BASF PuriStar® R3-11G is a high-performance material used for the removal of trace impurities from gases and liquids. BASF PuriStar® R3-11G is offered in tablet form. Each tablet has a nominal diameter of 5 mm and a height of 3mm (approx. 3/16” x 1/8”). The material is of dark-green to black color.
BASF PuriStar® R3-12 comes in tablet form with a nominal diameter of 5 mm and height of 3 mm (approx. 3/16” x 1/8”). Alternatively, it can be produced in smaller 3 x 3 mm tablets.
BASF PuriStar® R3-15 is designed for the removal of Oxygen from different streams. BASF PuriStar® R3-15 is offered as tablet with a nominal diameter to height ratio of 5 x 3 mm (3/16 x 1/8”).
BASF PuriStar R3-15S is an adsorbent specifically developed for the removal of mercury components from different streams.
BASF PuriStar® R3-16 is a high efficiency CuZn catalyst which is tailor-made for the purification of polymer-grade ethylene. BASF PuriStar® R3-16 comes in tablet form with a nominal diameter of 5 mm and height of 3 mm (approx. 3/16” x 1/8”).
BASF PuriStar® R3-17 is a versatile copper catalyst for removal of traces of carbon monoxide from gaseous and liquid hydrocarbon streams, in particular liquid propylene.
PuriStar® R3-81 is a robust copper catalyst used in sulfided form for the removal of O2, NOx and traces of acetylene from refinery off-gas. PuriStar R3-81 is the focal point of a group of products used for the recovery of ethylene from refinery off-gases.
PuriStar® R8-21 is a robust nickel catalyst used in sulfided form for the removal of O2, NOx and acetylene from refinery off-gas. PuriStar R8-21 is part of a group of products used for the adsorptive treatment of refinery off-gases.
BASF adsorbent R9-12 is a cylindrical adsorbent for removing arsine and sulfur compounds from hydrocarbon streams in the presence of hydrogen or multiple unsaturated components.
BASF adsorbent R9-PAR is a cylindrical adsorbent for removing preferably Arsine and Phosphine from hydrocarbon streams in the presence of hydrogen or multiple unsaturated components.

BASF PuriStar® R3-22 is a high-performance material, designed for removal of Arsine, Phosphine and reactive Sulfur from Propylene containing streams.

BASF Selexsorb® AS is a smooth, alumina-based spherical adsorbent impregnated with a promoter to provide optimum adsorption capacity for arsine, phosphine and stibine.
The present guideline provides information on how to bring the indicated adsorbents into contact with liquids and gases.
BASF Selexsorb® CD is custom-formulated to provide optimum adsorption of a number of polar compounds including: water, oxygenated hydrocarbons (alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, ethers, peroxides), mercaptans, sulfides and nitrogen-based molecules (ammonia, amines, nitriles).
