O3-81

N2O (“laughing gas”) is a significant green house gas. One ton of N2O is judged to have the same impact as 310 tons of CO2. BASF N2O decomposition catalyst series O3-81 reduce N2O especially from adipic acid plants.

O4-89

BASF Catalyst O4-89 has been developed for removing oxides of nitrogen from oxygen-containing off-gases. It is used, in particular, for destroying nitrous gases in off-gases from nitric acid plants. O4-89 is an extrudate of approximately 4.5 mm in diameter (S 4.5).

O4-89 Filling Instructions

Before filling with catalyst, the reactor and its surroundings, especially the filling ports, should be thoroughly cleaned and covered with a cloth awning. Both new and used catalyst absorbs moisture from the air. Therefore, the drums should be kept closed and opened just before filling the reactor. All inspections and pressure testing of the reactor should be completed before filling.
