Case Study: Membrane CO2 Removal from Natural Gas, Grissik Gas Plant, Sumatra, Indonesia

One of the world’s largest membrane systems is used for bulk removal of CO2 from natural gas at the Grissik gas processing plant in South Sumatra, Indonesia. The membrane system processes 310 MMSCFD of natural gas, reducing CO2 from 30% to 15%. The Grissik plant is termed a membrane plus amine hybrid which offers particularly attractive operational benefits. The membrane system has been operating for more than four years with no membrane replacement and offers the benefit of very long membrane life.
