In addition to Formaldehyde and Ozone, there are other pollutants such as Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) and Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) that can result in poor indoor air quality.

VOC are a large group of chemicals that are found in many products we use to build and maintain our homes. Once these chemicals are in our homes, they are released or “off-gas” into the indoor air. The U.S. EPA reports that breathing in low levels of VOCs for long periods of time may increase some people’s risk of health problems.

Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) is one of a group of highly reactive gases known as oxides of nitrogen or nitrogen oxides (NOx).

According to the U.S. EPA, breathing air with a high concentration of NO2 can irritate airways in the human respiratory system.
