Protecting the air we breathe from harmful emissions through innovation. BASF leverages unsurpassed expertise in the development of emission control technologies for a wide range of market applications. Did you know there can be 5x more air pollution inside your house than outside of it? Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) refers to the air quality within and around buildings and structures, especially as it relates to the health and comfort of building occupants. Understanding and controlling common pollutants indoors can help reduce risk of indoor health concerns. BASF offers the widest portfolio of adsorbent technologies for a broad spectrum of applications in industries such as refining, petrochemical, chemical, and gas processing. The BASF portfolio includes proprietary alumina, silica, alumino-silica gels and a broad line of base metal oxide guard bed materials, including the PuriStar family. At BASF, our Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) catalyst and additive offerings together with our expert technical services build the right solution to create value within any unit’s constraints. The increasing demand for energy and resources is what drives us to develop more sustainable solutions, while addressing the need for energy efficiency and conservation. We partner with those who share our commitment to a healthier, more natural and more affordable future for energy and resources. We are constantly improving the quality and reliability of our products, and strive for even greater efficiency and productivity. BASF Natural Gas experts have a diverse portfolio of products to custom design a solution and help you meet your Natural Gas treatment needs. BASF has been serving the natural gas treatment market for over 60 years. With more than 150 years of experience in metal sourcing, trading, and hedging, we’ve built tangible results for our industrial customers. With more than 100 years of experience in recycling materials, BASF’s end-to-end recycling program is known and trusted around the globe. As a leader in precious-metal thermocouples for many years, BASF recently applied its technological expertise to optical-based temperature measurement. BASF Sorbead® Air adsorbents are alumino silicate gels in the form of hard, spherical beads. They are essential in removing water from compressed air so that the efficiency of chemical processes is not compromised. Sorbead® Air is the most energy saving and environmentally friendly adsorbent available for the air compression industry. Innovative, step-change technology with dual-purpose performance: removal of heavy hydrocarbons and water to cryogenic specifications in a single unit. BASF secures renewable energy for catalyst plant in Poland

  • 100% renewable energy to power the Mobile Emissions Catalysts production plant in Środa Śląska
  • Energy company PGE Obrot S.A. named as the new supplier

August 25, 2021 - BASF Polska has signed a two-year contract with PGE Obrót S.A. to purchase electricity produced entirely from renewable energy sources - mainly wind - to power its Mobile Emissions Catalysts plant in Środa Śląska.

“We set ambitious environmental objectives in BASF to achieve climate neutrality by 2050,” said Katarzyna Byczkowska, Managing Director of BASF Polska. “However, to make it a reality, global goals must also translate into local strategies. By signing this new contract, we will now cover 100% of our electrical demand in Środa Śląska from renewable sources.”

“BASF is committed to drive the energy transformation towards affordable and clean renewable energy sources for our operations,” said Daniel Wussow, Vice President Mobile Emissions Catalysts, EMEA. “By increasing our use of renewable energies, we will significantly reduce CO2 emissions in Poland. We are also supporting our customers to reach their sustainability goals as the European automotive industry demands sustainability management from their suppliers along the entire value chain.”

The BASF Mobile Emissions Catalysts plant in Środa Śląska is one of the main plants manufacturing catalysts in Europe and provides modern solutions for exhaust gas treatment for light duty and heavy duty segments.
