In
December 2021, BASF announced the carve-out of the mobile emissions catalysts,
precious metals trading, recycling, and related products, and services business
into a to-be created standalone organization named BASF Automotive Catalysts
and Recycling (ACR). This name has now been changed into BASF Environmental
Catalyst and Metal Solutions (ECMS). The carve-out is intended to be
completed by July 2023. Once completely standalone, ECMS will remain part of
BASF Group.
