O4-204 is designed for the oxidation of n-butane to maleic anhydride (MA) at n-butane loadings of up to 40 l/l*hr. The catalyst may be operated with n-butane feed rates and gas hourly space velocities (GHSV) of up to 2.20 vol% or 2,000 hr-1 , respectively. Its outstanding features include high MA product yield and excellent operating flexibility combined with low by-product formation. Additionally, an exceptionally long catalyst lifetime is ensured by slow deactivation and low pressure drop increase. Like its proven predecessor, O4-200, the new O4-204 is a robust, durable and safe catalyst. The fully activated, chloride free new recipe from O4-204 results in improved selectivity and highest MA yield.
